Anakiwa to Havelock – 18kms
Total 87kms
Today we finished the Queen Charlotte section and have arrived in Havelock where we will be having a rest and resupply day tomorrow in preparation for the 10 day section ahead.
It was a nice easy day, mostly flat walking on the Link Pathway that runs parallel to the road all the way to Havelock. I tried out my new lightweight merino long sleeve shirt. It was really nice to wear, even when it was hot and I was wet through with sweat. I might get another one at some stage.
Havelock is a nice little town. Its all about the Green Lipped muscles here. A few good cafes, restaurants and takeaway places to choose from. We are staying right in town at the Havelock Garden Motel.

Happy new year Dean. You’ve started again. Well done. Take care on your continued adventure.
